Connecting from
Local Outlook to TriSys ASP Exchange Server
This
document describes how to connect to the TriSys ASP Exchange E-Mail server from
a locally installed version of Outlook 2003 or later in order to access e-mail,
contact and calendar information and to synchronise with Pocket PC devices
using Active Sync.

Browser E-Mail Access
The
TriSys ASP Outlook Web Access (OWA) technology allows TriSys ASP customers to
access e-mail from any device (computer, PDA, phone etc...) with an internet
connection.
Open
a browser and enter the following URL:
(Note: the s following http – this
means a secure connection using the hypertext transfer
protocol)
The
browser will display the login page as follows:

Enter
your TriSys ASP login name and password in order to gain access to e-mail as
follows:

Connecting
to TriSys ASP Exchange Server from Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007
Once
OWA is operational and accessible from the local computer, open the control
panel using StartàControl
Panel.
Double
click on the Mail icon in the Control Panel:

This
will open the Mail Setup dialogue:

Click
on the E-mail Accounts button:

Click
on Add a new e-mail account in order to add a new e-mail account, or View
or change existing e-mail accounts to edit an existing connection.
If
at any time, a login prompt appears like the following, then press Cancel at
this stage.

Either
select the entry for the TriSys ASP server, or press the Add button to create a
new connection:

Choose
the Microsoft Exchange Server option and choose Next…

Enter
the following in the Microsoft Exchange Server text box:

Uncheck
the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box:

Enter
your login name in the User Name field and press the More Settings…
button:

Enter
TriSys ASP Exchange Server into the Exchange
Account text box and click on the Connection tab:

Check
the Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP check box and press the Exchange
Proxy Settings… button:

Enter
the following URL into the Connection settings: https:// text box:
Check
both the On fast/slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using
TCP/IP check boxes.
Also,
choose Basic Authentication in the Proxy authentication
settings section.
Click
OK, then click OK again on the Microsoft Exchange Server dialogue to return to
the wizard:

To
verify that the connection will be established when opening Outlook, click on
the Check Name button.
This
should replace the login name with the full user name following a successful
connection.
Now
start Outlook on the local computer and you should be prompted to provide your
user name and password:

Enter
your TriSys ASP credentials in order to get access to the remote Exchange
server from within Outlook:

Synchronising
Outlook with Pocket PC PDA Device
Now
that the local Outlook is connecting to the remote TriSys ASP Exchange server,
it can automatically synchronise with a locally installed PDA using ActiveSync
technology using the USB cradle or remotely via
wireless.
