TriSys Active Searching

During Q4 2006 the Active Searching module was added to TriSys.

Active Searching allows the system to automatically run candidate searches against Requirements and assign relevant candidates to the shortlist.

In order to enable Active Searching on an existing system please refer to the release notes for version 7.02.001.

Once Active Searching has been configured it can be used by following these steps:

1)      Create a new Requirement or open an existing one.

2)      Ensure the requirement has relevant search criteria set up (if you do not apply any criteria you cannot enable Active Searching as this would result in every candidate in the database being added to the shortlist).

3)      Tick the “Enable Active Searching” field on the Requirement and save your changes.

4)      Once this is done the system will now periodically re-run the search you specified against the Requirement and add any matching candidates to the shortlist. The first time the search is run it will add all matching candidates to the shortlist. On subsequent runs only new candidates that have been added since the last search or existing ones that have been modified will be added. This prevents candidates that the user decides are irrelevant from being re-added to the shortlist once the user had removed them. As shown in the screenshot below the Candidates will be marked as having a shortlist source of “Active Searching”:

5)      The owner user of both the Requirement and the Candidates will receive pop-up notifications that their Requirement/Candidates have been modified by Active Searching.

6)      An overview of Active Searching is shown on the dashboard. From here Active Searching can be enabled/disabled for the all live Requirements that the current user owns:
